The AAU releases its Preliminary Enrolment Data

HALIFAX, NS – Universities across Atlantic Canada continue to defy demographic trends, reporting increased enrolments of full-time undergraduate and graduate students by 2.4% (+1,759) year-over-year.  Full-time undergraduate and graduate enrolment across the region’s 16 universities now totals 74,854.

The Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU) today released its 2018-19 Preliminary Enrolment Data.

AAU member institutional response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Calls to Action for PSE

Atlantic Canada’s universities have started the journey in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Calls to Action for postsecondary education (PSE).  There is much work to be done to successfully fulfill the Calls to Action. Progress is being made. And, the region’s universities have a bias for action to make a positive difference in the lives of Indigenous learners across the region. 

CONSUP Appoints a New Chair

(HALIFAX, N.S.) – Dr. Kent MacDonald, President and Vice-Chancellor, St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, N.S., has been appointed Chair of the Council of Nova Scotia University Presidents (CONSUP).

Dr. MacDonald follows Prof. Dianne Taylor-Gearing, President, NSCAD University, Halifax, N.S., who completed her two-year term as CONSUP Chair, June 5, 2018.
