2017 Regional Awards for Excellence in Teaching
FREDERICTON, NB - The Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU) announced the recipients of its annual regional awards for excellence in teaching and educational leadership on Thursday, September 21 at St. Thomas University, Fredericton, NB.
The three AAU Teaching Award recipients are: Dr. Danny Dyer, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, Memorial University, St. John’s, NL; Dr. Andrew Parnaby, Department of Cultural & Creative Studies, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Cape Breton University, Sydney, NS; and Dr. Anne Marie Ryan, Department of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Science, Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. AAU member universities proposed nominees for the Teaching Awards program and recipients are selected by the AAU's Coordinating Committee on Faculty Development.
Dr. Anne Marie Ryan received the 2017 AAU Anne Marie MacKinnon Educational Leadership Award for a demonstrated commitment to the improvement of university teaching.
Dr. Danny Dyer and Dr. Andrew Parnaby, each received the 2017 AAU Distinguished Teaching Award recognizing outstanding teaching over a number of years.
