AAU/NSERC-Atlantic Communications Workshop

The Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Atlantic, hosted a Communications Workshop, Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, NS, Wednesday, February 18, 2009.

The AAU and NSERC-Atlantic attracted a stellar panel of journalists to offer their insights into how our university research communications specialists can best package and present their research and science stories to the news media.

Peter McMahon, DiscoveryChannel.ca, was the guest speaker at the Workshop. Peter engaged workshop participants in how to get recognition for university research and science stories.



Communications, marketing and student recruitment specialists from universities across Atlantic Canada gathered at the Communications Workshop to hear keynote presenter Sean Carton, Chief Strategy Officer, idfive, Baltimore, Maryland.



Sean Carton, Chief Strategy Officer, idfive, Baltimore, Maryland, kicks off his presentation entitiled "Brand/New/World: Integrated Communications in the 21st Century". Sean engaged workshop participants in a broad look at how universities should use all forms of communications to reach student prospects.
